I wasn’t going to miss out on gravy just because I am eating anti-inflammatory! Gravy is one of my favorite parts of a Thanksgiving table so I had to get creative. Enter cassava flour gravy, spiked with fresh thyme! Ohh yes it works so well and super super easy to make. Grab your favorite bone broth, or make your own, and use some good quality butter – you’ll want to just eat it with a spoon it’s so good! 

Smother over your festive plate of deliciousness, or quickly whip some together for weekend biscuits. This gravy is versatile, gluten-free, and so satisfying! Customize with different herbs to pair with your next meal.

I toasted the butter and cassava flour mixture in a pan and then slowly added cassava flour. A light whisk and short boil later and the gravy was smooth, silky, and delicious.

Cassava Flour Gravy

Grain free and ready in minutes, cassava flour gravy for Thanksgiving

A creamy, versatile, and grain-free gravy, perfect for your Thanksgiving table. Substitute different herbs to compliment your next meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cassava flour
  • 1/2 cup grass-fed butter, melted
  • 3 cups bone broth, warm
  • 1 tsp thyme leaves

Instructions

Combine butter and flour in a pot over medium heat and stir for 5 minutes until lightly toasted.

Add chicken broth 1 cup at a time and whisk to combine. Add fresh herb if using.

Let boil for 1 minute.

Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

Substitute with sage leaves, rosemary, or herbs de province to pair with differnt foods.
